Filter for Good: Brita and Nalgene Team Up

If you've seen me at any of my events, you've probably noticed a unique water bottle sitting on the table on stage... I repeatedly get asked what it is and why I have it. Well, here's the answer.

Brita and Nalgene have teamed up to help you reduce your contribution to bottled water waste. According to FilterForGood.com:

Last year, Americans threw away 38 billion plastic water bottles, about $1 billion worth of plastic. That's a huge waste, especially considering 1.5 million barrels of oil--enough to fuel 100,000 cars for a year--were used to produce the bottles. And that's not even including the oil used for transportation.

Brita and Nalgene (and me!) are challenging you to take the FilterForGood pledge and commit to reducing your personal waste by giving up bottled water.

Now, I know that there are some instances that require an old-fashioned bottle of water... but just like anything, only do what you can when you can. It goes a long way.

Check out this US Carbon Footprint Map, an interactive United States Carbon Footprint Map, illustrating Greenest States to Cities. This site has all sorts of stats on individual State & City energy consumptions, demographics and much more down to your local US City level...
